At Lochshore House, we believe that food is a really important part of your stay with us. We use seasonal and local produce whenever possible and we love to cook and try to produce as much of our own food as possible. We cure our own bacon, churn our own butter and make our own yogurt. We have our own hens and ducks, and bake all our own bread, cakes and biscuits. We have a Taste Our Best award from Visit Scotland and we are committed to serving quality Scottish produce, prepared with care and served with passion.
Breakfast is served at individual tables in our dining room between 8am and 9am each day. We are flexible though and if you have an early start, just let us know the night before .(Click to see our breakfast menu)
To start choose from fruit juice, a variety of cereals, fresh fruit, or porridge, followed by a variety of cooked breakfast items, including bacon, butchers sausages, Stornoway black pudding, haggis and eggs cooked just how you like them. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs are also served, along with a variety of omelettes, and for those who prefer something sweet for breakfast there is always a sweet option such as buttermilk pancakes with blueberries. Our menu can change slightly according to the season and availability.
We are happy to help you with dinner arrangements and can recommend several places locally. We have an excellent pub just a five minute drive from the house, The Edinbane Inn .
A little further afield but still within an easy reach of the house is the famous Three Chimneys Restaurant.
We have a good local taxi service and we are happy to arrange a taxi on your behalf.
